Christ Church Recovery

For those who struggle with addiction, compulsive behavior, depression, anxiety, or any other spiritual battles.

Christ Church Recovery is a ministry of Christ Church focusing on those who are suffering with addiction, compulsive behavior, depression, anxiety, or any other spiritual battle that stands between them and a life free from the pain and destruction these problems cause.

No matter your struggle, we want to help you find the peace and freedom found in Jesus Christ. Through an intensive program of worship, study, and counseling we will not only address the struggles you are facing but also the root cause.

What We Believe

The Bible clearly states “all have sinned” (Romans 3:23). It is our nature. None of us are untainted. Because of sin, we’ve all hurt ourselves, we’ve all hurt other people, and others have hurt us. This means each one of us needs repentance and recovery in order to live our lives the way God intended.

You’ve undoubtedly heard the expression that “time heals all wounds.” Unfortunately, it isn’t true. The truth is – time often makes things worse. Wounds that are left untended fester and spread infection throughout your entire body. Time only extends the pain if the problem isn’t dealt with.

True healing….healing that brings joy, freedom and peace can only be found in the love so graciously offered by our Lord, Jesus Christ (Matt 11:28-30). By this relationship we are brought from spiritual death to life, a new creation given the power of God through the work of the Holy Spirit to conquer the spiritual battles like addiction, depression and anxiety that once seemed unconquerable. (Eph 2:1-5, 2Cor 5:17)

Is Christ Church Recovery Right For Me or My Loved One?

Does you or someone you love suffer from:

  • Addiction (Alcohol, Drug, Gambling, Pornography, Sexual)
  • Anger
  • Anxiety
  • Codependency
  • Depression
  • Eating Disorders
  • Love and Relationship Addictions
  • Physical/Emotional/Sexual Abuse
  • Any other emotional or spiritual pain or compulsion that is crippling your life

If the answer to any of these are yes, than Christ Church Recovery is right where you need to be; right where we want to join you in the fight.

What to Expect

Unconditional Love

We understand “love” is often a hollow word used not only in the world but also in the church. Love tends to be given conditionally, based upon you meeting expectations. At Christ Church Recovery you will find this is not the case. At Christ Church we believe from visitor to pastor we all are sinners offered forgiveness undeservedly by a Holy God. The love we receive from God is not because we are worthy, but because He is.

A judgement free environment

Romans 3:23 says that “all have sinned." This means all of us were and are deserving of God’s justice and wrath. None deserve God’s love more than another. In fact it’s just the opposite, we all equally deserve His justice and wrath. But Romans also gives us the most beautiful statement in all of human history when, “but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8) was written by the Apostle Paul. Even though we are deserving of His wrath, He offers His love and mercy instead. God doesn't offer His love and mercy to a perfect version of us, but instead the true “us”. The “us” controlled by our sin nature. The “us” that is imperfect, the “us” that doesn't deserve it. God offers His love to not only to the person raised in church...but equally to the one battling addiction, to the one battling depression, to the one who feels like they are completely alone. No matter your situation, He offers it to you!

Honesty

Part of the healing process is taking an honest look at our lives and actions. Both good and bad. While sometimes this can be difficult, it is necessary in order to bring our lives in line with Biblical truth. To help you navigate through this we pledge to be completely and lovingly honest with you.

Relaxed Environment

Sometimes we feel like there is a need to “fix” ourselves before we come to church. We need to dress accordingly, know the church lingo, and pretend like everything is ok even when it isn’t. That’s not the environment you will find at Christ Church Recovery. We want to join us you are, not as you hope to be.

A Message from Pastor Joel

John 3:16 is one of the most widely known verses in all of Scripture.

“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life”

But have you ever truly stopped to consider He was talking about you?  Have you ever considered that God looked down the portals of time and said “I want that man or that woman in my family?  I want them in my family so much that My Son will die to pay the debt of their sin. A debt you could not possibly hope to pay.”

That’s exactly what happened! He wasn’t looking at a perfect version of you that has it all figured out. But instead the real you that is messy, the you that is complicated, and the you that is in the midst of a struggle you are losing hope of ever gaining your freedom from.

True freedom from the pain of addiction, compulsive behavior, crippling anxiety and depression is found only in a relationship to Jesus Christ. Today, right now, He is offering that freedom to you! I speak for everyone at Christ Church Recovery when I say we want to help find the freedom and peace you are so desperately searching for.  My question is what is stopping you?
